Exciton scattering from impurities and acoustic phonons
We study scattering of excitons from impurities and acoustic phonons in carbon nanotubes. In carbon nanotubes, electron-hole symmetry exists. Therefore, scattering of electrons and that of holes for excitons cancel with each other and scattering of excitons are substantially suppressed.

Energy dependence of energy broadening for excitons caused by scattering from long-range impurities. Energy broadening for the exciton ground state (red line) vanishes below the band edge for the first excited exciton.
